This project aims to control the spread of COVID-19 in Yemen by increasing awareness of infection prevention and control (IPC) among health workers and communities and by building the capacity of healthcare professionals in managing severe COVID-19 cases, particularly in intensive care units (ICUs).
The project is funded by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and implemented through a collaborative effort between both partner organizations.
Key Activities
- Community and Health Worker Awareness:
- Conduct awareness sessions on COVID-19 prevention measures.
- Distribute informational materials in health facilities and public spaces.
- Promote hygiene practices and social distancing through local media and community networks.
- Capacity Building of Health Workers:
- Organize training workshops on IPC protocols in healthcare settings.
- Train healthcare providers on the clinical management of severe COVID-19 cases, especially in ICUs.
- Provide simulation-based training on ventilator use, oxygen therapy, and patient monitoring.
